The Founding Story
Matthew Harry started this ministry in response to a God-given desire to reach and help children suffering from poverty and injustice. God led him to Cambodia In September of 2024. As he prayed for guidance, God showed him the need of one child.
Here is the story in his own words:
“I had been in Phnom Penh for one week, searching for the reason I felt led here. I was feeling overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. I was thinking about leaving. I went down to the riverside with some chips and Gatorade to think. I saw a struggling family and gave their little girl the chips and Gatorade. Then, I went and sat down a ways away. As I was sitting there, the mother came up and showed me her daughter, who had boils and open wounds all over her body, along with an evidently swollen face from dental problems. I took them to a pharmacy, carrying the girl half the way because she was lagging. There, I bought her the medication that the pharmacist recommended, and then the mother told me that they were homeless and needed a place to stay. We got a tuk-tuk (mini taxi), and she led us about 15 minutes to a place they could rent. With the help of a guy named Nacho, who could translate, I could pay for their first month's rent and purchase their basic necessities like a mat to sleep on, a fan, and food. That same day, we went to the dentist to get her treated. I have continued to help this little girl and her family with follow-up medical, dental, and basic needs ever since. She has dramatically improved. It was that day that I realized I could not leave. This little girl and many more like her need help. Her name was Sok Sreynang.”

Our Services
Sok Sreynang Hope and Faith is committed to empowering inner-city street children through every means possible—improving their lives and freeing them from the grip of poverty and injustice. Below are some of the key services we provide:
Medical Missions
The inner-city street children often suffer from a variety of serious illnesses. Working with parents (when possible) and local doctors, we provide necessary medical treatments to help children regain health and well-being.
Dental Missions
Severe dental issues are common among the inner-city street children, leading to extreme pain and infections. We work with local dentists to provide crucial dental care, aiming to restore healthy, pain-free smiles.
Educational Missions
For many children in Phnom Penh, poverty and even parental substance abuse prevent them from attending school, often forcing them to work or beg instead. Therefore, we seek to provide the necessary services for school-age children to attend school regularly and learn. We do this by working with parents, local law enforcement, and schools, funding transportation, school supplies, and basic clothing needs, and teaching these values to the children and their families.
Food Missions
Malnutrition is a serious concern for inner-city street children who eat little or nothing throughout the day. To combat this, we work with local vendors to provide healthful meals, nurturing physical and spiritual well-being. For those interested, we also offer Bibles, further sharing God's love in a personal, tangible way.
Homelessness Missions
Many families in Phnom Penh can't afford safe housing. By investigating each child's situation, we sometimes cover rent or find alternative accommodations to keep them off the streets and in a stable environment.
Orphanage and Ministry Center
Our developing orphanage and ministry center in Phnom Penh will serve as a safe haven for children who have nowhere else to go. With a dedicated staff, we aim to provide a loving and secure environment where the children can grow, learn, and thrive in God's love.
